A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Structured Instructional Program on Practice Regarding Selected Home Based Newborn Care among Mother Under Cesarean Section in Baghdad Teaching Hospital

The study aims to evaluate the Effectiveness of Structured Instructional Program on Practice regardingSelected Home based Newborn Care among Mother under Cesarean Section. A quasi-experimental studydesign was conducted during period (15th January 2014 through 15th May 2014) non-probabilityof (100) women (50) them were a control group and whom admitted tomaternity department at Baghdad Teaching Hospital in city. questionnaire used as toolof data collection Descriptive & Inferential statistical analyses analyze data. result ofstudy indicate that highest percentages groups age (20-34) years old,most illiterate, read write, primary schools graduates, housewife, from “urban area”, thecontrol accounted (62%), (68%) (3-4) (5-6) pregnancy. (38%) (50%) controland respectively are registered deliveries, reported none abortion (82%) and(84%) .Also there highly significant differences concerning theinstructions care for their children postpartum after cesarean section group, aswell extremely good effectiveness instructions. recommended nurses should teachwomen delivered by principle practice regarding newborn care, also onmass media take an action keep mother informed about care.
